Being 31 now, I’ve lived a lot of years and tried a lot of different things. Filmmaking, Photography, Web Development, Art, YouTubing… None of it has even come close to the feeling I get from Game Development.
I first started my game development journey making terminal based games in Ruby in middle school. I dabbled in learning many languages and developed a lot of different skills in 2D game development. I’ve released a few games which are not notable, but the experience was thrilling and fulfilling.
Today, my relationship with game development is almost non-existant. Ever since starting my career working 9-5, I’ve given up on a lot of the things I use to enjoy, game development being one of them. It’s left a creative hole deep within me, grasping for any type of creative release.
I’ve decided to dive back into game development and re-introduce myself to new technologies & make small projects. I’ll post my progress on this blog and also on my Twitter/X @imdanstellar.
I will also participate in the upcoming Ludum Dare game jam, one I use to participate in several years ago.
